NEW PSYCHOANALYTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY
In spite of its enormous influence upon almost every aspect of Western culture, psychoanalysis remained largely a treatment method, a part of medicine and psychiatry for a professional community of psychoanalysts themselves. In author's view, this medical and scientific identity brought some benefits, yet precluded both professionals and public at large to acknowledge and use proactively in social life the new moral imperative embedded in psychoanalytic practice. This imperative can be defined by the word "consciousness", which when applied as both moral demand and mental practice (as it is used in psychoanalysis proper), means the refusal to use any a priori dogma for moral issues but always take into emphatic consideration the joy and suffering of a human being, including one own's.
